The Program for the Development of Sustainable Production Systems (PDSPS) at the University of Santiago de Chile is a research and development center that promotes sustainable production systems through scientific and technological research, knowledge transfer, and dissemination to the broader community. It brings together interdisciplinary aspects to understand, evaluate, balance, and increase the sustainability of productive systems, measured from five perspectives: economic, environmental, social, political, and technological.
The program's research lines are Resource Management and Process Management, seeking the growth and progress of a global society through the promotion, advancement, and development of interdisciplinary research and projects dedicated to the production systems of goods and services, along with the balance of present needs without compromising the resources of future generations.
The program was created by Exempt No. 652 on January 18, 2022, at the Faculty of Engineering, and the Department of Industrial Engineering manages it. Currently, it is governed by the General Regulations of the Research Center for the Development of the Faculty of Engineering Program, Exempt No. 5038, on June 15, 2022, and its Internal Regulations approved on August 2, 2022.
